Grosvenor Square Expert Report, Specification for replacement floor and installation, Quality control and sign off of completed works

The Stone Consultants were called in by this private client when he became concerned that the Crema Marfil floor tiles in the basement of his £3m Grosvenor Square home were debonding from the substrate.
The Stone Consultants carried out a detailed survey of the 160m2 floor area and provided an expert report on the condition of the 600x600 Crema Marfil flooring. Several tiles were loose as a consequence of poor installation by the original contractor. The floor was deemed unsafe and had to be replaced.
The client asked The Stone Consultants to write the specification for a new floor installation and inspect the work of the new contractor. At completion The Stone Consultants signed off the work as complete and to the correct specification. The client is delighted with the replacement floor and confident that the installation complies with the relevant British
Standards and Codes of Practice.

“We asked the Stone Consultants to survey the stonework as a dispute had arisen over the quality of the finish. The report they provided helped us to resolve the issue and move forward with the project.”
